The Hot Plate Project is a grassroots initiative founded by Madeline Bonilla, bringing the San Antonio community together to prepare and serve nourishing meals for local shelters. Powered by partnerships with local restaurants and volunteers, this San Antonio based movement is built on connection, care and action – proving that when a community shows up, no one goes hungry.

Our vision is to build a lasting network of restaurants, volunteers, and community partners united by one purpose—ensuring no neighbor goes hungry. We strive to create a San Antonio where nourishment is always available, compassion is always present, and every meal shared strengthens the bonds of community today, tomorrow, and for generations to come.
